Lip fillers are a very quick procedure and with minimal preparation. For the best results, avoid ibuprofen, aspirin and fish oil supplements for 3 days prior to your visit.

Your experience with lip filler starts with a personalized consultation with Jacki in our private East Grand Rapids office. There she will take time to understand your needs and goals, as well as to assess your lips and facial structure to determine exactly how to place the filler for natural looking results that are best suited to your face.

During your treatment for lip fillers in Grand Rapids, Jacki may first apply a topical or local numbing agent or nerve blocking injection to numb the lips. Once we achieve a numbing effect, a fine needle is used to inject the appropriate hyaluronic dermal filler, whether Restylane or Juvéderm, into the areas needing more volume and structure.

Your appointment, including both consultation and treatment should last around 45 minutes.

Some swelling and bruising are to be expected, but these typically resolve by the next day. To ensure you’re looking your best, we recommend avoiding lip filler treatment less than 48 hours before special events.

We recommend that you avoid alcohol and exercise the day of your procedure and facials for at least 14 days. If you do experience swelling, you may apply ice to the injection site ice or take OTC medication to reduce swelling.
